Becca Smith

Manager of Asset Development

Becca Smith currently serves as the Manager of Asset Development for the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC), a 501c6 non-profit corporation focused on bringing world-class sports and entertainment events to the Bay Area that drive economic vitality, community-wide engagement, civic pride, and global recognition. In this role, she contributes both to the business and event operations as well as the revenue generation strategy for the events under BAHC’s purview, including the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, Super Bowl LX in 2026, and six matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. She was the first hire under the current President and CEO, Zaileen Janmohamed.

Prior to joining BAHC, Smith attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Sport Management (M.S.) in 2023. During her time there, she served as the Graduate Assistant to the Director of Internships where she provided mentorship and assistance for undergraduate students through weekly newsletters, workshops, and strategic communications with potential employers.

In her previous role as the Assistant Director of Business Operations and Special Events at Pepperdine University Athletics, Smith oversaw student services for over 300 student-athletes including housing and some financial aid like cost of attendance and coordinated team travel for 14 Division I teams including air and ground transportation, lodging, and team meals. Smith also managed all special events for the Athletics department including fundraising and alumni events, golf tournaments, and season ticket holder receptions and proudly served as the Assistant Tournament Manager for the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball West Regional Championship in 2020.
