Ruth Mizobe Shikada

Head of Government and External Affairs

With more than 30 years of professional experience in local government, Ruth has led numerous public-private partnerships and public policy initiatives in an executive management capacity.

Before joining BAHC, Ruth was an executive manager for the City of Santa Clara with more than eight years as Assistant City Manager.  In this capacity Ruth carried a broad portfolio of responsibilities including oversight of City/Santa Clara Stadium Authority’s contractual and operational responsibilities for Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara Convention Center, Silicon Valley/Santa Clara DMO (Discover Santa Clara), and the $7 billion mixed-use Related Santa Clara development project.

Before her tenure at the City of Santa Clara, Ruth held key positions at the San Jose Redevelopment Agency and the City of Long Beach leading numerous large, complex public-private development projects from transaction negotiations through design and construction.

Ruth received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Irvine. When not working, Ruth enjoys a good work out at Orangetheory Fitness and trying out new wines with friends. Ruth has two adult children and lives in San Jose.
