Vice President of Partnerships

Ryan Bates is the Vice President of Partnerships for the Bay Area Host Committee (BAHC), a non-profit that is uniting the Bay through marquee sports events that will be visiting in 2025, 2026 and beyond.

Ryan brings with him an 18-year career creating, managing and selling sports partnerships that maximize the passion and power of sport to drive ROI for brands both large and small. Bates is responsible for all brand partnerships for the BAHC, including the 2025 NBA All-Star Game at Chase Center, the 2026 Super Bowl LX and six 2026 FIFA World Cup matches at Levi’s Stadium.

Prior to joining the BAHC, Ryan spent two years at Elevate Sports Ventures as the Director of Partnerships, assisting a variety of teams in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and EPL strategize and sell jewel assets including stadium naming rights, jersey patches and founding level partnerships.

Before Elevate, Ryan spent nearly 8 years with the San Francisco Giants as their Director of Partnerships Sales creating major partnerships with key brands such as Beam Suntory, Draft Kings, T-Mobile, and Uber. In addition to general team partnerships, Bates oversaw a 150% jump in partnership sales efforts for the Giants Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Ryan initialed moved to the Bay Area to assist the San Francisco 49ers with seat license and luxury suite sales for the yet-to-built Levi’s Stadium. Part of sales team of 28, Bates excelled utilizing the excitement of the 49ers resurgence to generate 8 figures worth of seat and suite revenue in the 2.5 years with the team.

Prior to the 49ers, Ryan spent 2 years managing over $20 million worth of team partnerships annually for the Dallas Cowboys as they opened Cowboy Stadium (now AT&T Stadium) with founding partners such as Pepsi, Texas Lottery, AT&T and Beam Suntory.

Ryan began his career with 4 years in Arizona with the Phoenix (now Arizona) Coyotes on the partnership activation team managing the team’s largest partnerships including Pepsi, Gila River Casinos and Heineken.

When not working on all the exciting BAHC events that are upcoming, Ryan enjoys beach time in Maine with his family, sharing his passion for live sports with his children and traveling to the West Coast to visit family and friends. Ryan lives in North Andover, Massachusetts, with his wife, Amanda, and their children, Halle (5), Charlie (3), and new addition Brody (born in January 2024).
